One of my earlier designs which didn't quite work. A slingback made of netting all the way to the heel area was a construction issue. The shoe would not have worked as it would have been too fragile. Hence, a quick discussion with the factory and I changed the design and added a buckle. The studs were supposed to be Czech diamantes but the thing about diamantes is that if one falls off, the shoe looks unfinished. I opted for round gold studs which would hold onto the shoe better. I remember going around the material marketplace searching for the softest fabric mesh I could possibly find - one that is soft enough for the feet and yet strong enough to hold the shoe and not tear when walking. It was tough but worth the effort.
