Kate Middleton's Wedding Shoes : GlamRockChic version

When I read this article by WWD on famous shoe designer's proposed sketch for Kate Middleton's royal wedding shoe, I told myself let's draw for the heck of it. WWD is not going to ask a small time newbie like me to submit my drawings anyway but let's just do it for fun. The royal wedding is this Friday and I haven't really gotten around to drawing my inspiration till today, but late is better than never right? GlamRockChic's DNA is edgy glamour with classic chic - hence here is our spin on the shoe : it must have the glam, the edge and the chic.

Feet to be adorned by waterfall-like fresh water pearls interlaced with sparkly pearl effect sequins in a choker-like arrangement at the vamp, with a hint of vermillion grosgrain piping in the center which opens up to reveal flesh. Off white Italian satin upper, midsole and platform. And since I have this thing about vermillion heel as seen on my Heart & Soul shoe, I choose to replicate this on the heel as well, giving it a kickass chic look to the otherwise typical one tone white wedding shoe.
And with my love of gold, the lining is to be a brilliant gold hue, which can be seen peeking through royally when the princess bride walks.

Looking forward to the spectacular event on Friday!

I just caught the shoes she actually wore on camera, even if the photo isn't great! Here it is - http://t.co/NzBicTc Here's my post about the shoes, which were hand-crafted to complement her gown: http://www.shoehunting.com/Kate-Middleton-Wore-Closed-Toed-White-Alexander-McQueen-Pumps-At-The-R-26981/

hey thanks Anna! That looks very classic indeed. It is not a surprise she choose Alexander McQueen!
